Background & Settlement

In the northern Golan Heights at an elevation of about 630 meters above sea level, on the border of the snow line in the heart of wild nature and facing a panoramic view of the Hula Valley and the Ramim Ridge, lies the community settlement of Kela Alon

Kela Alon is a community settlement based on self-management by residents, and its community activity is grounded in the spirit of volunteerism.

The settlement is administered by a cooperative society board and a local committee democratically elected, responsible for day-to-day management of the settlement and addressing residents' community needs, assisted by committees in various fields staffed by residents.

We view education as a central element in the settlement. Education includes responses for early childhood, from birth to age 6, alongside rich informal educational activity for school-age children and teens after school hours.

Early childhood education operates within settlement boundaries. The settlement operates a daycare for ages 0–3, adjacent to which operates a compulsory kindergarten for ages 3–6 serving settlement children. The kindergarten functions with afternoon care and is active during Ministry of Education vacations. Children's nutrition is important to us, so we employ a cook and the children enjoy fresh food cooked daily.

Children in grades 1–8 attend 'Avital' School in Merom Golan, approximately a 13-minute ride via organized transportation, studying on an extended school day format (YOHA). The Golan Community Center, located within the school compound, provides enrichment and sports classes as part of the school day. High school students study at Nofey Golan School in Katzrin, or alternatively at various high schools in the Galilee Panhandle.
Within informal education, afternoon activities take place in the youth club for various age cohorts several days a week. Additionally, starting in 4th grade, settlement children and youth participate in activities of the 'Bnei HaMoshavim' youth movement.

In total, 33 plots are being released for marketing in the current stage (15 plots from the existing expansion and 18 from the next expansion).
