Agriculture: In the moshav there are many agricultural farms making a living mainly from mango, date and citrus orchards, alongside turkey farms and other crops. In the more northern areas, wine vineyards and apple orchards are developed today.
Tourism: Many families make a living from hosting (B&Bs) and complementary businesses.

Community Characteristics: The Ma'ale Gamla community is strong and dedicated to preserving traditions – shared holidays, youth movement activities, and vibrant senior citizen programming. Community activity relies on volunteers across various committees contributing according to their skills and interests.

Public Institutions and Services: The moshav features a daycare for ages birth to 3 and two kindergartens for ages 3 to 6. Our primary elementary school is Ma'alot HaGolan located in Ramot, and high school students study at Nofey Golan in Katzrin. In the moshav, children in grades 1–3 participate in "Free Friday" – twice weekly during routine periods and day camps during school vacations. Children in grades 4 and above are active in "HaTnuah HaChadasha" youth movement, meeting by age cohorts during vacations as well.

The moshav features a Clalit healthcare clinic, grocery store, library, and secretariat.
