Background & Settlement
The settlement, Kidmat Tzvi at an elevation of 480 m above sea level, is located in the center of the Golan Heights about 5 km north of Katzrin. Next to it are two sites - Ein Nashut and Ein Samsam, where remains of synagogues from the Talmudic period
Economy
The settlement's economy is based on deciduous fruit orchards – pears, apples, and cherries, wine grapes, flowers, dairy farming, and poultry coops.
Approximately five small boutique wineries operate in the settlement with a combined production capacity of about 130,000 bottles annually. Alongside agriculture, residents earn livelihoods in teaching and various liberal professions in the region.
There are also small, unique businesses in diverse fields – artists exhibiting original works in jewelry design, painting, sculpting, and more.
Education
The wave of absorption brought prosperity and growth to educational institutions in the settlement – infant nursery, daycare, and pre-compulsory and compulsory kindergartens.
Students in grades 1–8 attend the 'Avital' Regional School in Kibbutz Merom Golan, and 'Yalkut HaRo'im' School – an anthroposophical school in El-Rom. Both schools are located approximately a 20-minute drive from home. Avital School operates an extended school day with options for extracurricular activities through the community center. High school students attend 'Nofey Golan' in Katzrin, 'Branco Weiss', and the Democratic School.
School transportation to and from schools is organized by the Golan Regional Council.
In the afternoons, the informal education system swings into action. Children enjoy extracurricular classes and sports activities at the Golan Community Center centered in Merom Golan and at the Katzrin Community Center.
Youth receive special attention – 'Nitzanim' activities for lower grades, a dedicated youth compound for teens with local counseling and 'HaTnuah HaChadasha' youth movement guidance. The entire education system collaborates with the community during holidays and special events.
The settlement features rich, varied cultural and social life tailored to residents' needs. Major holidays and memorial days are commemorated in accordance with moshav traditions. The moshava has come a long way – families grew, houses expanded, newly planted saplings provide shade, and the small moshava transformed into a large, vibrant community.
