V'Ahavta – A House of Education educating to the love of God through connection to essence, femininity, learning, and experience
The 'V'Ahavta' House of Education aspires to raise our daughters to develop a strong personality that can add and contribute to the people of Israel and its redemption while dealing with the challenges of contemporary culture out of Halacha and faith.
Annual Theme - Last year, in the midst of the war, the theme 'My Jerusalem' was chosen, in which we engaged with the sanctity of Jerusalem, ways to connect to it, and learning about its essence. The culminating event was our exciting school-wide trip to Jerusalem. This year the chosen theme is 'Illuminating the World' - each month we explore a different topic through which the girls illuminate the world: love of Torah and its study, acts of loving-kindness, and prayer.
Diverse Arts - In weekly classroom dance lessons, meaningful songs are studied that create a common language across the school. In weekly school-wide folk dancing, our school family feeling is cultivated. Once a year, we stage a school-wide dance production in which all classes participate, alongside rich art classes, music lessons, graphic design, and more.
"Memorization Campaign" - Each month, a different classic Jewish text is selected—a cornerstone text that is important for the girls to learn and know by heart. Seventh-grade girls, the "big sisters," test the younger girls; those who succeed receive a treat, creating an atmosphere of adding sanctity in various fields.
Mentorships - We believe that mentoring among schoolgirls provides dual empowerment—both for the mentor and the mentee. The mentorship project enhances the sense of belonging to the school, love among the girls, and enables them to bring their strengths to fruition.
Classroom Culminating Evenings - For each class, an evening or morning with parents is held related to classroom learning processes and developmental stages. These gatherings combine learning, experience, creativity, and constructive communication that nurture the girls and strengthen the bond with parents and the educational home.
